Labels, checked

The label says free-from. We read the list.

Shops print labels like fragrance-free, paraben-free or vegan. We hold each one up to the product's own ingredient list, with a written rule for every label. If they don't agree, we name the ingredient.

3,261 products carry a free-from label. 272 have one that doesn't match the ingredient list.

Example: the label says fragrance-free, but the list has lavender oil.

Some labels can't be checked from a list, like cruelty-free. We leave those alone instead of guessing.

First, we score how well each product does this step's job for you, using the three parts above. Ingredients that need care take a little off.

Then we try the product in your routine: we line it up against every product that could take that spot. Your number mixes that place with how well it does the job. So it only gets close to 100 near the top of that line, and only if it does the job well. Products we leave out for you get no number. A product shows the same number on your result, its product page and My Shelf. The colors show safety.

High-concern ingredients are taken out first, before anything gets a score.
